What is the Liebster Award?
It’s an online award given to new bloggers from existing bloggers. It’s a way for the blogging community to recognize and support new bloggers. How cool is that?!
In the short time I’ve been blogging, it’s been easy to see how much love and support the blogging community has for each other. And this award is a great example of that. Veteran bloggers recognize that there is space for everyone and everyone has their own unique perspective and voice, so they’re happy to share the love!
It has been my absolute pleasure and honor to join this amazing community and learn from those who have gone before me.
Who nominated OMC?
A huge, HUGE thank you to Jessica at His and Her Views for nominating the OMC! She and her husband have created a really unique blog highlighting the struggles real couples go through. Their posts focus on a topic related to relationships, then Jessica will write from a woman’s point of view and her husband, Brent, will write from the man’s. I’ve never seen this done before…you usually just get one perspective. They are doing amazing things! If you haven’t checked them out, do! Again, you can find them here.
I also have to recognize Pete & Heather Reese of It’s a Lovely Life. They are industry veterans helping newbie bloggers get up and running. Their support, education, and dedication to helping the up-and-comers is truly a blessing. I couldn’t have gotten the OMC up and running without them. Thank you guys!
Fun Facts About the OMC
Fav Veteran Blog
Bringing the Sunshine – I have been following Andi for several years now. I was originally drawn to her blog because, like me, she has a child with Down syndrome. At the time, I was looking for somewhere or someone to relate to. Raising a child with special needs can be a lonely journey. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with Andi’s “voice”. Her humor is contagious and her musings are real. She writes with an honesty that is both refreshing and comforting. Any mama looking to connect with life, love, parenting, or special needs should head over to Bringing the Sunshine.
My Nominations for the Liebster Award
I was immediately drawn to the silliness, love, and humor that is so obviously a part of this family! Together, they are about making life as easy as possible, appreciating the little things, and infusing life with fun, the sillies, and laughter. Head over to their FB site to check them out. You’ll find great family lifestyle tips and tricks.
Sarah is the voice behind Long Live the Restless Hearts. She has her plate full with a busy family, career, and pets (I might be partial to her Siberian Husky 🙂 ). Through it all, she and her husband have made a commitment to maintain their adventurous lifestyle. Join her on her travels. You won’t be disappointed! PS: The photography is stunning! 🙂
#3 – Simply Balanced Mama
Caitlin is a mom who’s got it figured out. Her tagline, “Balance is not something you find, it is something you create“, resonates so much with me! I personally struggle with this sometimes, so I am excited to read her advice and get some good practical tips that can help me in my everyday life!
#4 – Anchors Away, Mommy
Amanda is stay-at-home mom dedicated to raising her family. Before having her family, she was a pediatric occupational therapist. Her blog has provided a platform for her to draw on her experience as an OT by sharing fun and educational activities with readers. Having been involved with OT since my daughter was born, I appreciate and respect Amanda’s experience and look forward to incorporating her suggestions into our everyday fine motor activities!
#5 – Peace Joy Namaste
Anna is a single mom raising two boys, nurse, educator, and blogger! She started her blog after going through a divorce as a way to share her travels and inspiration for life. Her outlook on life is inspiring and I’ve truly enjoyed reading her posts on motherhood and travel (she brings a whole new perspective on visiting Las Vegas, which I get to visit Spring 2018).
So that’s it! Again, it was such an honor to be nominated! I am so grateful and encouraged that there are other moms like me out there that struggle with fitting in too. None of us are alone. We will embrace our differences and be “odd moms” together!
Till next time! Happy blogging!
